The time where boxer good go up the ladder fighting soft competition, getting a belt, having a juicy TV contract, making good money fighting nobodies, those times are gone. The money is not there anymore. The situation with PBC speaks by itself, HBO is not showing many boxers, I don't remember the last Showtime fight night, I even miss good old Teddy of ESPN. Boxers and promoters can not now wait for the big pay to come miraculously. It won't anymore. Boxers have to go for the big fights if they wan't to build a name for themself. It is more risky, but it is now the way it is. No more waiting. Excitment have to be back in the "game".

    Amin !

Check what that jewish promoter who discovered Sergio Martinez, Samson Lekowicz, had to say. it was on the scene
    it was something like this
" after 2014, 2015 overpaying of boxers, the times changed in 2016, and it will remain like this next year too, thats why there werent many fights done in '16. Boxers want to much money and they're waiting, but the industry cant go like this, so if fighters dont wanna fight, they can go find a 9 to 5 !! "
    ouch

it was clear also he was jabbing PBC IMO

I hope they get the new conjoncture, sooner rather than later. Otherwize they might be waiting for a while. I mean, for most of them, it would be a wise choice to go 9 to 5 now, it is less risky.

Mayweather ruined it for being so business based. Lomachenko is spearheading its resurrection but even he is a diva when it comes to purses, demanding a cut that he doesn't deserve at all.

I think most of them already have a job. It's the Quillins of the world that should start thinking about investing that money properly. I'm wondering how he has gotten by this long without fighting? Danny is currently a boxing deadbeat but he invested his money early into businesses and so did Paul Williams before his accident, which is what supports him to this day.
You wanna leave boxing like Tyson /Holyfield or Foreman/Mayweather?

What businesses did Danny invest in? How much did he invest?

some of them got paid real good by Uncle Al, and probably stick with the Escalade instead of the Phantom,
    tsk, tsk, tsk
    those poor people

but most of them need a 9 to 5 in order to support their families

a good thing would be those alphabet organizations to lower their ranking for non activity, but they too corrupt

Barbershops and a few stores in North Philly. His gym is a regular due collecting gym too. Garcia created more jobs in Philly in the past 4 years than Hopkins ever has anywhere. That's why I have a bit of a sour taste about Bernard Hopkins.

Good list, but the point that I want to stress still stands. It is important for guys to understand that they have to make the big fights. It will be hard for any of them to bring attention to them if they do not go for the fight people wants, considering the economics of things, considering TV is kind of dying.

Boxers struggle to sell a million ppvs. Why are they getting paid so much ?

How much do they think they deserve ?

Somewhere after 2013 things got crazy. Everyone thought they deserved big paydays because the other guys were getting them but they overlooked that fact that those guys got paid well because they earned it the hard way. Now everyone thinks they can demand what the legends demanded without the hard work. Broner, Garcia, Khan, Jacobs,Quillin, Santa Cruz, Golovkin, Lomachencko, Frampton, Gamboa are all guilty of this in recent times.
