What gets me is the poofing around footy players do, I dont know how any athlete can pretend to be hurt when they arent ( as ALL footballers do ) In no other sport does diving and rolling around on the floor trying to get some one carded happen. Not in Rugby , Hockey , American Football , Basketball anything Footy players are poofs lol !

Actually the one that really gets me is Vinnie Jones , hels up as some kind of god of hardness , dont make me f**kin laugh !

 

When I fought Hardcastle I kept 100% of my ticket money..... my best purse by a long way.

This will always be the case until boxing gets its act together and makes its deals in a collective manner.

Can you imagine Man U and Chelsea looking for a 1 match TV deal? No. they sell the whole fekkin lot , the good matches and the crap, in one go for a shed load and divvy up the money. Boxing COULD do the same but it would be a sea change, with them having to fight to TV deadlines etc. The big advantage would be that the would be no more ducking, and open and fair ranking.

When you hear of a boxer's purse you can halve it for what he actually 'takes home'. 25% go to his manager,10% to his trainer,then there may well be training expenses,sparring partners, hotels etc, then he has to pay either 23% or 40% tax on what's left. So if Calzaghe was paid 2million for his Kessler fight, he'd walk away with approx £780,000

 

whats the name of that sheffield utd player who decided to give up football to become a boxer? i think he made his debut at a FW debra (?) charity event....i believe he was on 8 grand a week and packed it in because of his love of boxing.

Depends on the promoter. I can't comment about higher rated fighters but your looking at maximum £2000- min £300 for a six rounder. £3,500 for an eight and similer for a ten but then I was probably getting shafted atsch
