Larry olubamiwo is having his record wiped for drugs offences. What does that entail? I would imagine all his wins become N/C on both fighters records but what about the fights he lost? It seems harsh to take a W off an innocent party. What is the protocol here?
I've never heard of such a thing as a boxer's record being wiped. Louis Resto's record is still on BoxRec and he was banned for life in the mid 80's along with Panama Lewis for loaded gloves in his fight against Billy Collins. I don't know how can they justify this, if it's true.
I read it on the Sky Sport news iPhone app, but here's some links from a quick google: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?cat=boxer&human_id=469438 http://www.google.co.uk/search?clie...oe=UTF-8&redir_esc=&ei=rpffT5muMcyz8QPGt_jBCw
"Olubamiwo tested positive for EPO after the fight and in June 2012 after admitting to using 13 banned substances, was subsequently banned for four years. His record being wiped"
this would be the best thing possible for boxing, these steroid riddled disgraces should be severly punished instead of given a slap on the wrists.
he is an interesting case...13 substances damn i could understand why his record would be erased...thats a huge crime there, like most guys probably get caught with one or two probably did it the whole entire time
Well the innocent parties aren't missing out on anything too glamorous if all the guilty party's wins are in the shitter anyway. For example, Danny Peret would have a win over an 0-0 guy...John McDermott over an 0-1 guy...Sam Sexton over an 0-2 guy...:yep
