I just ran into this fight and although its short I like the show of a boxers defensive skill capabilities by Yosuke in the quick standup portion. Check it out. For those that don't know Yosuke was a champion boxer. Is anybody else impressed as to how he keeps his cool and defends himself well vs the crushing blows of melvin? When else does melvin have to take somebody down to finish em!?

Considering almost everyone else that faced Nishijima did the same in MMA are don't understand why your surprised or what your point is. Nishijima was thrown off a cliff in PRIDE and flung in at the deep end with some of the best talents in MMA. He spent an entire career boxing with decent success. He was hardly ever going to have any impact. Matter of fact he was beaten on his feet by Hunt who out weighed him by dam near 100lbs.

Shame he only has boxing skills,if he could develop other parts of the game.....

yes, exactly. Also, yeah mark hunt tkoed em but, he ate a crocop kick too he has a monster chin. There was great skill and heart show in that fight as well. Here is part of it. Great use of the jab although ultimately ineffective. Many subtle boxing techniques shown off in this fight :thumbsup

Yeah, he's certainly a tough *******. Remember being amazed at how tough he was in the Hunt fight at the time.

He was a poor boxer. Only won the WBF title, a belt that our mothers could win

He was ranked once in the top 10 at 190 by the Ring. He wasn't anything close to being a poor boxer. He was actually a very decent boxer with average power.

You're probably one of those fools who thinks that the only "good" boxers in the world are the top three P4P guys and everyone else just sucks. I'd be a thousand bucks you've never been in a gym in your life...
