Boxers suited for MMA?

  1. Started in muay thai as well so im sure his kicks isnt too bad. Very good cardio and work ethics as well as sxcellent natural instincts.

  2. This is what Rugby players are being taught at the very basic level (also applies in League). Even at this level there are already quite a few grappling and body control involved (this is also in a third tier rugby nation). Imagine what an elite rugby nations are doing, its no wonder that most teams nowdays have their own JJ and wrestling coach. [yt]-5pZxDRVMfw[/yt][yt]qE3n71aJk1I[/yt]

  3. Rugby has been poaching the best coaches for ages now, I just found this 1996 clip of Rugby players. The use of grappling etc have skyrocketed since 1996 and is now regarded as an integral part of rugby. However many teams now train behind closed doors and those teaching the art gagged by the club(s) from discussing the specifics. Grappling is widely taught but rarely discussed.

    He never did muay thai.

The pics you probably saw of him, wearing a muay thai uniform was only for a Philippine version of "Fear Factor/Amazing Race" type of reality show, back in the mid 2000's.

He did muay thai only as a TV challenge. Only for 1 day, probably.

The "Extra Challenge" reality TV show.

Pac never did real muay thai.

  5. I was under the impression that he did. If he didnt then I would probably change my opinion of him in MMA. Although he is still the best boxer today and one of the best boxers ever.

Boxers with 'wreslting strength' and who have legs. James Toney leaning on the ropes throwing punches style isn't suited for MMA.

Miguel Cotto, a young Mike Tyson, Ricky Hatton, David Tua would all be solid MMA fighters.
