he would weigh less. could be a lil faster. tigher abbs would help him take bodyshots better. he's not fat but for a 24 year old you'd expect him to be a little more ripped. i dont see how sheding 5 - 10 pounds would hurt him

For some it's just a bit harder to lose all of that excess bodyweight. Could be genetics or something of that sort. If that were so and he really tortured himself to lose the weight he may be weaker, and possibly not able to take or give the punches that he does. If he were heavier - by muscle mass, he would lose a bit of speed.

I've noticed that with Diaz as well, usually that last little bit has nothing to do with how much he works out it has more to do with nutrition. But who knows, people's bodies build up differently and seems like alot of Mexican fighters just aren't musclebound.

Never, ever a lean guy. Looks bigger than normal here.

Tail end of Neilsen's career, anyway.

Probably one of if not the best choices here.

Think this was against Zumbrun when he weighed in at 280...?

I thought about that. Maybe he can lose five pounds of unecessary fat and fight at a lower div. I remember his 7th pro fight, first time I saw him and he was a little chubby kid.

  13. James Toney, Butterbean, Tex Cobb looked ordinary with a beer belly, but was moderately successful, and of course George Foreman in his 2nd career, fat and frumpy, but kept knocking MF'S out..

His BMI on fight night is 21.8 - which is definitely fine. I guess his body fat % could be better, maybe.

Having said that, why change what SO obviously works?

James Toney, even in his best shape always carried fat and was never that chiselled.
