Ron Lyle was stabbed in prison and almost died …I don’t know if it made him tougher…but he did say it changed his life

Britain's Nel Tarleton became a world class featherweight - despite having only one lung! Never knocked out in 148 fights.

I was just about to add Nella.
The man was reed thin, couldn't punch, one lung and tough as old boots.
Sadly Nella died just short of his 50th birthday when he'd have recieved a pension courtesy of winning a Lonsdale belt outright.
My dad uses to watch him train at a pub in Aughton Lancashire

Like Smokin Joe, The Basque Woodchopper" Paulino Uzcudun also suffered an arm injury that led to a natural hook.

Yaqui Lopez dream was to become a matador but a bull shattered his ankle and his dream ultimately forcing to leave the bull ring for the boxing ring.

You’re similarly afflicted? Phew! A problem shared is a problem halved.

The sock option is good…until you pass and react to a gorgeous lady in the street and up goes the sock leg as if you’re about to launch into a goose step march.

As you said, life must go on……

Tami Mauriello had polio as child which affected his legs forevermore. Still managed to fight the great Joe Louis and momentarily shake the Brown Bomber though he was seen off himself inside a round.
