I just watched an interview with Don Curry from 1985 and I was shocked at how he struggled to put himself across, when I saw him fighting I thought he would talk smoothly like Ray Leonard, Meldrick Taylor was another fighter he was awful in interviews, his speech made himappear uneducated, another fighter like that is Tank, I remember reading in te ring magazine an article about who could be the next supperstar in boxing and charisma was mentioned, Michael Jordan the legendary basketball player was used as an example of a sportsman who had charisma on court but appeared dull in interviews, he was compared to magic Johnson who was very charming and winning in his comparative interviews, what other fighters were like Curry and Taylor in this regard?

All those you mentioned were colorful, articulate verbalists compared to the one and only Leotis Martin.

I wonder if Mark is more charismatic in real life as opposed to the internet version?

"He can run, but he can't hide."
"I won't feel like the Champion, until I get "Smellin" back in the ring".
Beyond those, I can't remember anymore famous Louis quotes.

Hector Camacho came to my gym way after his prime and was very quiet and nothing like the "macho man" character. Prince Nas came before his fight with Augie Sanchez and was shockingly humble, it was me and chad dawson and he was so polite asking us questions about our amateur careers. Then they had media day the next day and the prince came out, and he was talking crazy trash lol Boxing is like WWE

Yeah, Camacho could definitely be like that. A guy I used to know vaguely met Camacho back in the 80s and he was very down to earth and just seemed like a regular guy, and definitely didn't mention who he was or that he was very famous at the time or anything like that, and was totally different than he was on TV. It wasn't until the next day that this guy I knew found out who he'd been hanging out with for awhile.

Everybody loved this but I can think of is the tubby Somoan in MMA. King of the walk away knockout. No ground and pound needed.
