    those who say canelo needs to step up are wrong his progression stating the fact he is 20 has been steady andre berto ,robert guerrero,donarie an he is going to fight monitel it is about time cuz since his darchyen win he has had several chances to start the climb but has been stagnet,jr chavez it is time for the next step time to quiet the haters,lemieux is that power real or fasaud,david haye are u serious title def audley realy time to fight someone with a pulse,spadafora been out of jail long enough time to see if you can pick up were you left off

    By definition stepping up doesn't necessarily mean stepping up and taking on the elite - It can mean going from fighting journeymen to fringe contenders. Alvarez is past clubfighters and journeymen and is sitting at the bottom end of the B-classers/former contenders (N'dou, Cotto, Baldomir etc). At this point in time I would rate Matthew Hatton as a clear step up in B-class competition, which I expect Alvarez to continue facing for at least a couple more fights.

    It doesn't matter what his age is, it's his mental and physical maturity, experience and whether he is ready to take on the best.

    Did u just dare to put Cotto in the same level as N'dou & Baldomir, or did I miss something?:nut
