Golovkin - 80% Mayweather -75% Andrade - 65% Brook - 60% Charlo(s) - 45% Lara - 40% Spence - 40% Thurman - 35% Not really sure what middleweights can make 155.
Hell, Khan was doing very well out boxing Canelo until those body shots slowed him up for the knockout. So anyone with hands and legs that move has a chance to beat Canelo.
Based on eye test. Canelo would be the betting favorite but I would favor Brook. What percentage would you give him?
If they fought today - I have Canelo as slight favorite. Thought the first fight was close (7-5 Canelo) - can't see a valid argument that Lara was absolutely robbed but I would not have thought a decision for Lara was outrageous. I doubt they will ever fight again though.
Crawford is a few years away from 155 so I didn't think about it ... If they fought today at 155, 20% Williams is an unknown to me ... Will judge after his next fight.
Do we really talk about 155 now as if its a proper weight class and not just something that is dictated to fighters to give 1 person as much advantage as possible to keep the gravy train going? I think a gd question is... what would a fighter have to do to beat Canelo on points Will this be Canelos career from now until retirement? fight me on all of my terms, let me have every single advantage possible and if you do outbox me then your not going to win on points anyways So basically you have to knock me out to beat me even tho you are at least 10lbs lighter than me
At 155 / 154 ... not a lot of fighters beat Canelo. The real question is: for how much longer is he going to be able to cut absurd amounts of weight without damaging his body? Sooner or later he's going to have to head to 160 and then Golovkin is waiting with the mower. I will LOL if Liam Smith paddles Saul's backside because the drain hurts him.
First thing I thought too. Isn't listing fighters who can beat Canelo in an imaginary weight class the same as saying it's ok to do it? Aren't we just perpetuating the idea that as long as you have an advantage you can fight me?
My post was not intended as a comment of 155 or catch weights. Sorry if it was seen as such. If it is less distracting - change 55 to 54 and ****yze. It was simply meant as a fun exercise to see where people rank Canelo at the moment. Clearly I see that he would have a lot of very close match ups. I am neither a fan nor a hater.
I don't hate catch weights per se. However, I am annoyed that the MW lineal has been held at under 160 for quite some time. Canelo will continue to hold advantages until he doesn't have to. It's the way boxing has always worked - it's just not a Canelo thing.
