Boxers who could beat a higher weight opponent?

I've just been thinking, is there any boxers out there that you think could beat a heavier class? Obviously, if they got hit they'd run the risk of being brutally knocked out but is there any lower weight fighter who could perhaps run rings around his opponent or even knock them out?

I reckon Pacquiao could step up to Heavyweight and outpoint Wladamir Klitschko if he really tried.

...Nah I'm kiddin', there'd definitely be some Klitschko rage on this forum if that happened though.

obviously the boxer would have to be superfast and have a granite chin if he is fighting bigger guys.
i am going to take it you mean at least two weight classes higher,
my possibilities are calzaghe could ud a top hw,dawson could ud a top hw,bernard hopkins could ud a top hw,kessler could beat a top cruiser, paul williams could beat a top lhw, and pacman has already done it.there could be others but these spring to mind and i would not be surprised if they could do it.

So what? You say like its a big deal. Valuev sucks, even if my grandma would beat Valuev she proves nothing.

There are many (all, really) boxers who could beat a higher weight opponent. Not necessarily too impressive a feat unless the opponent in question is actually worth a damn.

Even Eddie Chambers weighing below 200 would beat most of the Ring's top 10 heavyweights.

    :good Exactly.

I think JMM applies to this thread well.
His step up from the SFW division sofar has been impressive.
    (And deserves a mention)

His fight Vs. Mayweather Jr. is gonna be another step in that direction.

I just wanted to say I'm not speaking about someone stepping up in weight to fight these guys, but to fight at their regular weight while doing it.

I think Paul Williams could beat Froch if PW was 160 and Froch was 168.

Pacquiao vs Valuev would be with Pacquiao landing Golota type combinations on the nuts.

true but nobody really pays attention much to fighters who beat nobodies when they move up. Prime example edwin valero. The guy is a 2 division champion but who has he beat? Pitalua-Mosquera are the best names in his resume.
