Name the boxers, past and present, who never struggled to gain a rhythm early in a bout. Boxers who no matter how tough the bout was, whether they had to grind out the win or not, the punches always seemed/seem to come naturally. They would rarely overreach, they wouldn't throw punches for the sake of it, just to land on the opponent. Basically looked very comfortable in the squared circle...and almost never had an off night, win or lose.
Marquez, I realize that this may not be the answer you want but I love how he is so comfortable and calm even when being dropped all over the canvas. Also hopkins, whitaker and Lennox lewis
Marquez's punches are very fluent when he puts them together. Rarely forced, especially when in with a come forward type boxer. I'm not counting his bout with Mayweather though...pretty much all of his work that night was forced. Hopkins is a good shout.
Chavez seemed to throw combinations so effortlessly at times, and seemed to remain calm and patient for most of the time. Especially in the Taylor fight, despite being behind on points.
:good I havn't watched the Chavez-Taylor bout in a long time...I think I'll rewatch it when I get a chance.
great call on chavez i'll include mayweather in this and roberto duran. there were many off nights later in his career but in his prime (dejesus 3) he was so natural in the ring that he barely even seemed to be in a prizefight
Very good call on Sanchez. Danny Lopez used to leave guys looking like somebody shot 'em in the head, but Sal never, ever, looked worried in either fight.
