It was unfortunate and perhaps a mistake but I just have an issue with the term "duck" more often than not, especially something like this. To me it's no more a "duck" of any technically #1 ranked challenger than any other time regardless of circumstance that a fighter has vacated or been stripped of any title. And to me, if you see some of the context, it's less so compared to many other circumstances. You're breakdown of his career is spot on. And I agree to pretty much everything you've said since I first responded to ya. I was his biggest fan on here back then. To say I'm disappointed with what has become of his career is an understatement.
These are real ducks, most of you claim any fight you want to see are ducks from someone. You only can duck your mandatory or a unification that's been talked about for years. Ducking means you're being stripped or you vacate your belt. I really wonder how long it's going to take the PBC belts to weed out all the wbc, wba, ebooks and ibf belts. Going back to one belt per division and somewhat of a league is going to be facking great
Yeah, you can add that to the list. But that was for the IBF. George Foreman ducked Alex Schulz 2nd Fight (IBF belt) stripped 1995.
Some others to add. Joe Calzaghe ducked Robert Stieglitz (vacated IBF title in 2007).....to fight Peter Manfredo JR Devon Alexander ducked Kaizer Mabuza 2010 (IBF title) stripped Andre Berto vacated IBF title in 2011 to pursue rematch with Victor Ortiz instead of fighting mandatory Randall Bailey.
