I agree with everything you’re saying to the last word. Most of that post was about the unfulfilled and high potential I think Sanders and Mitch Green possessed but in Sanders case I just don’t think he cared at all about boxing, if he had elite drive and motivation and fulfilled his immense potential — IMO — I honestly think he might have been able to be the #2 HW of the era behind only Lewis. But I think he could have given anyone hell if his heart was in it, regardless.

As for Mitch “Blood” Green, I also thought he possessed immense potential as well, maybe even more than Sanders. He was huge, had a long reach, blazing hand speed — IMO just as much handspeed as Sanders, was very light on his feet for a big man and was surprisingly reflexive and coordinated. To top it off for Blood, when he sat down on his shots he could generate very good power. More of the heavy handed variety I think as opposed to Sanders explosive power. It wasn’t that Mitch’s heart wasn’t in it, he severely lacked direction and a good trainer. Of course, for him to reach that potential he would also have to stay clean and out of jail so he essentially never would have been able to peak.

    Did Golovkin rematch Jacobs?
Did Chenko rematch GRJ? He didn't even want to rematch the dude who BEAT him told his promoter not to waste his time. and those were real good solid matches with hype coming in.

    Come on.

No more like Vitaly put a beat down on Lewis. Lewis was prepared for a heavyweight championship fight Vitaly was NOT. It's scary to think what a prime and prepared Vitaly would have done if given a full training camp. Vitaly is the GOAT.

You score fights round by round, not what fighter does in last two rounds. Korobov took him to school and Larry Hazzard piece of sh*t didn't even give hive a round. Maybe it's because he is Russian and novadays you can pretty much **** on them publically without repercussions.

I'm as big a Lewis fan as anyone on here but I don't consider the Vitali fight to be a straight up win. Lewis was landing good shots when he threw but had about a round left in the tank maximum before he simply fell over from exhaustion. He had nothing left and I question whether he'd have even made it out his seat. Look closely at how he was sitting down at the end of the rounds. That man was spent, finished, even the fumes had been burnt off. Vitali getting pulled out was a divine intervention for him. Deus ex machina of the highest order.

And like I say, I consider Lewis to be the Heavyweight GOAT.

Prime Lewis, however, beats Vitali because although they're similar on strength and physicality (I.E. both monstrously strong and in the top 3 to 5 fighters ever in terms of brute strength), Lewis was the more refined and talented, and this would have counted. In fact, it did count. Despite getting they ass whooped, Lewis was surgical enough to end Vitali on a technicality.

But anyway, Wlad forgot to train for southpaws???

No, Wlad got they ass whooped because back in those days he thought he could trade punch for punch with good hitters and he simply couldn't, and the lightening-handed Sanders was simply the wrong dude to be messing about with.

A cut where the guy isn't at any immediate risk from KO is a technicality.

    Vitali wasn't at immediate risk.

Regardless if Lewis was tired or not, he would have continued. Vitalis eyeball was literally a punch away from beyond repair.
