Eddie 'Motorboat' Logan had me thinking about this thread again. The similarity between the events of Leotis Martin and he himself are amazing. Both were massive underdogs going against respective hard-banging, comebacking former champs in Sonny Liston and Alfonso Zamora. Both were down early in their contests. Both rallied to take out the former champs and both did it in 9 rounds. And most amazingly, both, after having scored their greatest wins, never fought again. Martin due to a detached retina but I'm unsure about Logan. A strange career he had. According to boxrec, he learned to box in prison and turned pro. But after several fights he had about a 3 year gap before starting up again. I would hate to think he fell back into his old ways during that 3 year gap and after the Zamora fight but I would love to hear if anyone has any info on him. He certainly didn't shy away from talent. He ended up with an 8-7 record, having fought Zamora, Albert Davila, Leo Randolph, Superfly Sandoval (twice), Oscar Muniz (twice) and Benny Rodriguez.
