Not a particular Hatton fan but the whingeing from poor little Kosta’s fans is still off the wall.
Saw the fight, he basically couldn’t handle a mauler.

It is amazing how much good and bad Mando Ramos packed into a career that lasted just less than 10 years. I was an 11-year old in southern California and was despondent when Ramos lost his first title challenge to Teo Cruz. Of course, I was overjoyed when he won the rematch. I thought he would reign forever. Forever lasted a year. LOL I didn't learn until much later about Ramos' penchant for self-destruction.

On a side note, the Cruz rematch came only 4 and 1/2 months after the first fight and Ramos had two fights in between! In the 2020s the rematch wouldn't even happen that quickly and there is no chance there would be a fight in between.

I think the worst offender of all time is Adrian Broner. Not because he was the worst when it comes to drugs/alcohol etc, but because he's addicted to drama and attention. The guy has serious identity issues (desperately wants to be Floyd, wants to be seen as a thug and a gangster) and mental health issues (closeted homosexual issues that he hasn't come to grips with, fake suicide attempts for attention, etc).

You sort of expect this (to an extent) with a young boxer who grew up poor in a rough neighborhood and then they wake up one day realizing they're a millionaire. But it's a lot harder to overlook when someone is in their 30's (with several kids) and still behaving like a complete ass. He has completely squandered his career despite all his raw natural talent. Keeps putting his hands on people (I believe he has even hit women on more than 1 occasion) and going to jail over and over and blows all the 2nd chances he gets. The guy should have wised up by now and doesn't deserve anymore paydays until he can prove he can be drama free and functional for a good amount of time.

    Duran was actually vehemently anti-drugs.

His biographer Christian Giudice tells a tale that Duran recounted where he was having sex with a girl who started panting heavily. Duran asked if it was his performance but it was actually down to an asthma attack caused by weed.

When Giudice published, Duran refused to speak to him. Not because he was embarrassed by the account making him look vain or foolish, nor that it betrayed his infidelity. His wife had been in the room when he'd told the story. He was furious with the inference that he had been using weed and that it wasn't made clear that he wasn't.

    Strange set of values.

So you’re saying Hatton fought square and the ref was a straight shooter? Yes or no.

It’s not a game of tiddlywinks.
Tszyu if I remember correctly was going to destroy Hatton and it appears he couldn’t cope with Hatton’s roughhouse tactics that was the main reason not the referee, in fairness Tszyu was probably shot.
As a Brit I could complain that Joe Cortez wouldn’t let Hatton remotely work on the inside against Floyd, it wouldn’t have made a bit of difference though, Floyd was too good.

Yes this is true of Loche but he didnt eat himself out of his weight class. He had a really special gist of spatial awareness etc that had to have been at least partly genetic he also never displayed much offense letting his opponents look like fools trying to hit him.

It’s not, but rules exist. Tszyu was down by about 2-3 points and injured don’t act like it was a was. Secondly It’s not rough housing, Ricky was cheating.Yes or no?

Great example here .... He grew up in a pub, parents owned a few ,, he trained in the basement of the Pub .. He worked in the Pub ,, drinking beers , playin darts
watchin his mom knocking out patrons who acted out ..... Very few can put their body thru that abuse in between fights ,, If Hatton was dedicated , he would have achieved a HELL of a lot more imo .....
    great post

Shock, horror boxer uses rough house tactics.
So Marciano, Tyson, Ali, Foreman and many others were cheats using various forms of skullduggery to win.
Like I say, it’s not tiddlywinks, surely Tszyu should have been able to cope with that.
A fighter steaming in virtually face first should have been made for him with that much vaunted right hand but he was found short on the night.
And at the end of the day he quit on his stool with 3 minutes to go.
He really gets a big pass on here for that, imagine if that had been Hatton he would have been pilloried on here.
