Obviously in recent times youve got Bhop, Glen Jonson, Sergio Martinez as examples, who else defyed the age barrier and had the better part of there career in the later age bracket

Personally I always much prefered the young Ruddock-days Lennox - I think he was much better then - much lighter and faster - it was his speed which set him apart - he was like a basketballer in a boxing ring - when he got older and piled on a stone and a half plus he became much like any other big lumbering heavyweight - when he was young he had that cocksureness aswell - people always say he got better when he got with Manny Steward but I'm not so sure - he was a natural athletic talent when he was younger

Dennis & Tom Collins were never of the box were there, some superb domestic dust-ups back then & you would never have thought that Dennis would get to the top really as he was every boxing coaches nightmare:lol:

But i thought that was a wonderful thing that Manny Steward did for Dennis in bringing him in under Kronk as a reward for his never say die guts & endever, pity he never got the public kudos over here that he most definetly deserved. Quite man who never had the spotlight. Whacking Sibbo out shut a lot of **** takers up though:bbb

    Interesting.
I think Lewis got more dimension to his game in the late 90s, he was a better boxer in the sense that he picked his shots better, but you make good points.
I've always felt his destruction of Ruddock stands as his best performance, even now.

I think the way he boxed against Gary Mason shows he was capable of cool boxing performances from an early stage.
Davenport was his trainer then, I think.

Pepe Corea seems to get criticized, I think him and Lewis simply didn't get on. And it was a cheap move of Lewis to sack him and publicly blame him for the loss to McCall.
Lewis was an arrogant ass. Steward was just as complicit (or more so) in the loss to Rahman, but obviously Lewis liked Steward and didn't feel the need to blame his trainer.
