    Ha!

    No he wasn't.

    In what way?

It's baffling how you'd make that claim.

    Floyd at the lower weights.

He was a safety first WW with hand issues.

Ray, Hearns and Robinson would all be favoured.

Hearns is an awful match up for him.

I don't think his wins over Manny and Shane were mightily impressive.

He avoided nobody at those weights.

He's obviously rated so highly on a H2H basis.

Pac at 122 and Floyd at 130 are also good shouts.

I don't have to get over it.

I lived through the era and watched both of their careers play out.

Joe is the best in terms of accomplishments.

He spent 14 years at the weight and had 44 fights there.

On a H2H basis, Roy was the best fighter to ever fight at the weight.

Joe was a great fighter for sure. But he wasn't greater than what Roy was when he was prime.

Obviously you're not familiar with Roy's prime.

Top names to mind, all among my favorites, naturally...
Ricardo Lopez - 105, more ahead of his peers than any other
Salvador Sanchez - 126, his form at the end, the ultimate "what could have been"
Floyd Mayweather - 130, just so fresh I see nobody who can
Ray Robinson - 147, it isn't just a casual reputation
Carlos Monzon - 160, he proved it

Old school shout outs can go to guys like Greb and Wilde while I also myself view Jack Johnson at HW as one of the hardest fighters to beat. I know he lost, haha, but you just have to acknowledge then know the era.

    In the last decade-ish:
    Ivan Calderon - 105/108
    Roman Gonzalez - everywhere
    Nonito Donaire - 118
    Floyd Mayweather - 147
    Andre Ward - 168
    Oleksander Usyk - CW
    Wladimir Klitschko - HW

Julian Jackson and Gerarld McClellan were the #1 and #2 rated middleweights from 1989 to 1993 and Jones fought neither of them

The world's best fighter and unified LHW champ, ducked a relatively unknown WBO belt holder who fought in a lower division?

    Ha!

    Okay.

Roy was the consensus no.1 P4P fighter on the planet, whilst Joe was fighting the Will McIntyre's of the world.

    Get real.
