I just watched the full SRR vs Jones fight. This was SRR 2nd fight in his comeback, ....the first 2 weeks before.

The mid-50's SRR... would have always had trouble with Jones......because Jones was short and always came forward. (The fight looked like a mini-"Ali vs Frazier" situation).

The scoring in those days gave much more credit to controlled aggression (Jones).....that is given by today's scoring.

The fight scores would have been a lot closer by today's standards.

But SRR knew he had lost that nite.....and never gave Jones a shot at the crown.

Donald curry would have beat lloyd honeyghan more often than not

Lloyd honeyghan at his 1985-86 peak would have beaten breland and starling

Any version of Douglas that turns up prepared to fight beats Tyson every day of the week and twice on Sunday's. Whereas the only version of Douglas Tyson could beat would be the one who turned up for the Holyfield fight with only 2 things on his mind. The $24 million purse, and how quickly he could get his hands on it.

    Ali to Trevor Berbick.
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this one....

In part, I suspect that's because Berbick beat Page more cleanly than Trevor took Ali.

9 times out of 10 is way too high of a bar but I think that Leonard would have had a hard time beating Hearns again and Duran a hard time beating Leonard again.

I think Ray always beats Hearns. Too many dimensions.

Duran at his best was good enough to beat Leonard at his best.

Pazienza vs Duran, Joppy vs Duran, Lawlor vs Duran, in fact all of Duran's losses outside of Leonard, Benitez, Hearns, Hagler, and Camacho.

If the Hagler fight had been 12 rounds Duran would have beaten him as well. The only reason he loses to Hagler more often than not is purely down to size and strength. He would never be able to handle Tommy's power combined with the speed of his punches and his telescopic reach. Leonard at least 50 / 50 and that is even with Leonard's hand picked judges. Benitez is just too tricky even for Duran, but I don't see Camacho being a problem Roberto couldn't solve.

He won the first fight - except in the minds of the judges.
