Do/Did they exist? And if so how did it go?

I'm around 168 @ 6'2 myself and want to move up to heavyweight at one point. Want to look into the career of boxers who did the same

All I know of is Roy jones. Why do people say moving up ruined him?

Oh I got it switched up then.

Still, how did it ruin him? Was it because you get heavier as you get older and Roy had to sacrifice too much to make weight?

Lost to much weight in too short a timeframe going from heavyweight and back down to light-heavy.

What was his reason to move down?

Isn't HW the holy grail of boxing?

He moved up to take on a tough, but slow John Ruiz, won a Heavyweight title, looked over at Lennox Lewis and decided to go back down.

Adamek was LHW and gone to HW. His lowest weight for a pro fight was 170. Not a good idea tho considering the best LHW's don't have much of success. Even Tarver if he goes to HW he won't achieve much there and certainly won't beat the best out there. The only thing you could argue is that you would probably make more money at HW than you would do at LHW or CW, and maybe SMW to.

    Chris Byrd (Olympics)
Bob Fitzsimmons and Eddie Mustafa Muhammad were middleweights. In fact, Eddie weighed 151 for a bout early in his career.
Floyd Patterson started out his career in the mid 160s

Guillermo Jones went from 147 to heavyweight (though he was just a blown up Cruiserweight at that point)
