Mayorga had a habit of kissing his opponents hands after he lost to them. Not very macho if you ask me. Duran would never do that, he'd bite your fingers off instead. But noble, balsy gesture by Mayorga tho. I'm sure it was an act, cuz alot of the **** he'd say was personal and he knew it. Before Barrera-Morales classics were even made, fans of these 2 clashed in a soccer match. These 2 really, really did not like each other. That's why I enjoy watching them in Golpe a Golpe, there's respect there now, but Erik won't hesitate to speak his mind. All Barrera does is just smile and let him talk, won't bother to get in an argument or disagree with Erik.
I had the opportunity to ask both Ali & Joe their honest opinions of each other. They both basically said the same thing. We could never be real friends BUT They both RESPECT each other as a man and as a fighter Ali grinned & said Frazier is the best heavyweight in the world after me LOL
Ya Vargas hated Hoya.... so much so its weird seeing them together today. Guess they will soon be doing business with eachother. Ya mayorga was extremely gracious to fernando after their fight. Super humble.
Most recent and one i followed was Froch v Groves. Froch REALLY didn't like Groves and two fights and victories later, still says negative stuff about each other. Sometimes it's an act but Froch genuinely didn't like Groves. You could tell by his body language that he was on edge with Groves, which makes his victory all the more impressive. The other one which i remembered was Eubank and Benn. Benn just despised Eubank.
Hagler hated Leonard. Probably still does. Duran, of course, also hated Leonard, but he seems to have mellowed with age.
