Nah, you're American so is Ward....'Moms side' is kind of vague as well. They were all born there? She was born there? Some of them were born there?

Everyone but my mom was born there.

And I believe that there are no true americans. Unless you are american indian. Or if your great great great great etc etc parents moved here, and the rest of the family was born america. Then i guess you could be called american. But I can clearly trace my roots to ireland, and my dad was born there, and all of my grandparents were too, then im Irish.

But if i travel outside of USA, to a country which has its own indigenous people and hasnt been colonized, i consider myself american.

But in america, I say im Irish.

Nah, a dog born in a stable isn't a horse. But to me if you havn't got any Irish (grand)parents then just accept you're not Irish. His parents (and probably grandparents) were born in America, so was he...he's American.

Ginger hair and a O' before your name doesn't make you Irish.

    Oleg "I'm Russian Now" Maskaev...

This guy was supposedly proud of being an American, and acted as though he were offended by the Rahman-Maskaev bout being billed as "America's Last Line of Defense." He was so genuine, that shortly after obtaining Russian citizenship, he says "I'm Russian...(and says that's all he cares to say on the subject)"

Russians would be smart to turn their backs on this guy like he did to them already. No matter, the KLITs are the former Soviet's "real champs" anyways.

I have more respect for the KLIT"s than this lucky imitation cinderella man...Baldomir is this generation's real Cinderella Man.

When an American says they are Irish he means of Irish decent. This is how Americans distinguish themselves whether they are Irish-Americans,Italian Americans or Polish-Americans. How does Irish-American Mickey Ward sound ?- stupid right. So its just Irish Mickey Ward.
It doesn't bother me if Irish Steel calls himself Irish even though he is primarily an American - at least he knows where all of his relatives come from.

Yes in america, i call myself Irish, to differentiate my self from the italians, germans, and polish in my area. But when i am traveling to another country, i consider myself an american. Because i was bon here. Although i do have duel citizenship. Irish and american.

Max Bear wasn't Jewish. He did have Jewish ansistory but I'm not sure if it was his Mothers or Fathers side. This matters from a orthdox view point.
He was not raised Jewish. I have read a quote from eather his trainer or manger haveing seen him in the shower conferming that he wasn't Jewish.
Don't get excited it means he was not circimsised.

It has always bothered me how pro-Mexican and anti-American Oscar is. He was born and raiesd in America, but you would think he was born, raised and lives in Mexico.

  14. Both of my Grandparents, my Mother, and Father, were born in Ireland. I'm only 20 but lived in Ireland on my Uncles farm from when i was 10 until i was 18. But i was born in England, and live in England now, and i will always love and respect my Irish heritage, but i am English, and nothing else.
