    Tyrell Biggs was a good prep player who played with Gene Banks at West Philadelphia High School in the late 70's.He went to Hampton, but got caught in the drug scene.

    1. I believe Marciano did have a tryout with the Cubs.

    2. I have read that Sugar Ray Robinson was considered by major league scouts as one of the best baseball prospects they had ever seen back in the late thirties--he was a shortstop. Of course, as baseball was still segregated, that was not a career option for Robinson.

    Carlos Quintana was a good basketball player. Broke both his elbows falling onto the floor once though.

    Michael Dokes was pretty good at football, played in high school.
    Dwight Davidson was a wrestler in either high school, or college.
    Mitch Green was a good basketball player, but according to his mother, his temper got in the way.

    I've not gone thru the whole thread, but current british boxer Curtis Woodhouse played professional football (and was rather good) before turning to boxing

    Hes not from ireland, hes australian (i think) although he did fight lewis in ireland. Guys got a gym now in the states
