Boxers who were knocked down or knocked out with the Jab

Floyd has knocked down at least one opponent from a jab.

 

Buster Douglas dropped Mike Williams twice with a power jab. And finished him with a combination similar to the one that he took out Tyson with. Fun fight if you’ve never seen it

He also dropped him with a jab earlier in the 7th before the finish. Busters jab was the real deal.

Cotto put three guys down with a jab, I think. Most notably Clottey. Pulev made two guys quit from jabs, late rounds, just tired, frustrated and not willing to take a round or two more of the jab. He wobbled Wlad with the jab after that. I think Dimitrenko and...big...big...I can't remember his name. He was big. His name wasn't. Mount something. I think there was another Kovalev body jab that put a guy down and broke a rib.

 

Kovalev was supposed to be like a big puncher or something but it's not like he broke a guy's rib with a jab to the head. That would be real power.

 

Buster is a terribly underated fighter. He really had all of the tools but was just inconsistent. It drives me nuts that his crowing moment is remembered more for what Tyson didn't do than what Buster did.

 

Yep. I just checked his record and there's a lot of good names in his win column. I saw the Tucker fight and he was giving him a boxing lesson until caught. And the Tyson fight he would have given any heavyweight in history nightmares for sure.

Anyone remember Holmes vs Occasio?

 

Simon Brown knocked down Terry Norris with a jab in the first round of their first fight. Norris was really shaky and never seemed to have recovered throughout the rest of the fight.
