    I remember Roberto Duran saying in the press conference after the Hagler fight something like, ‘I lose fight and making all the excuses.’

    I can’t remember exactly what Marvin’s excuses might have been, and he years later corrected whatever that was by calling Duran the best of the best he ever fought.

    But I don’t think Marvelous was exactly magnanimous in victory in general, and he danged sure wasn’t in defeat after the Leonard fight.

    Holmes and Hagler. Seemed like they were always bitching about something after they won, living in someone else's shadow probably had something to do with it
