    I’d say boxers without big punchers or strong snide fighters. I wouldn’t see an Ali or a Holmes do too well.

    Holmes was a State Champion wrestler in high school. Combine that with his striking and overall take no sh*t demeanor and you have a winner.

    I think plenty of the old school boxers from Sullivan to Johnsons era would do well these guys also trained wrestling pretty hard. Anyone with decent grappling experience combined with their boxing ability should do well. I'd also add Paul Berlenbach and Larry Holmes to also do very well in MMA.

    IIRC Holmes was a state champion high school wrestler. Wouldn't count him out.

    Come-forward sluggers with no footwork.
    Feather-fisted swarmers
    Jab n' grabbers

    Those are the worst pure boxing styles to have in an MMA context.

    The best would be a boxer with a great jab and footwork, who can bang a bit.

    First prize would be a boxer with some wrestling, kickboxing or grappling experience ... ie, a rusty MMA guy with excellent boxing.

    Andre Ward has to be right up there , his ability to headbutt using his sixth sense so the ref doesn't see it is without peer , not to mention hitting low and his many years experience of throwing elbows and forearm shivers . He would DOMINATE and if he uses his connections to only fight in his home state then we are talking all time great :campeon:
