The arc could be his exile from America. The portrayal of the riots and killings after his fights could be really emotional to show on film.

A film about Louis and Schmeling would be great. Not that you'd need it with Louis though - As you say, America ****ing him over is worthy of a film itself.

Heard Spike Lee has been trying to make a film about Joe Louis. Which means it'll be very anti-white and full of over acting.

It just seems a bit down though? I don't know how many people, in 2011, want to watch a film about racism with no real positive to it. I'm not sure how that would work.

I like the idea of a Monzon film. Wasn't one rumoured? Maybe Victor Galindez too. He had an amazing life with a tragedy at the end.

Edison Miranda. His mother deserted him, ran away from abusive caretakers, tried to find his mom who rejected him again, lived on the streets of Colombia and worked as a laborer from 9 years old to a butcher at 15 years old. Never knew about boxing until he dreamt about it and found a boxing gym. After being screwed by his promoters and managers he made it to the US and found people he can finally trust. Never became an elite fighter but a champion nontheless.

I don't know who would be able to play him however.

Might be an obvious one but i'll propose it anyways, we've had Ali how about Joe? The arc could be him winning the title but not being taken serious because of the undefeated Ali and Frazier trying to prove himself to get out from under his shadow, the film could end on ea career high of winning the F.O.T.C ( or could have him demolished in the george foreman fight only to come back with the sheer bravery and determination of the Thrilla )?

I'm unsure as who would be cast to play such a role but i'll have a think - if anyone has any suggestions i'm open to listen lol.

No adversity in Floyds career. No arc. Maybe if Floyd gets KO'd by Pac, gets addicted to crack, comes back and wins multiple titles it could work.
