you must be one of those crazy people who equate a dog's life with a human life. McClellan didnt deserve what happened to him. Michael Vick got a few years in prison, not a death sentence
As a father myself, I'm staggered at the idea that anyone, regardless of conditions, would ever abandon their child. Saad Muhammad's story literally makes me flinch. May his "parents" rot in hell. Chacon's story is tough too. The guilt and helplessness he must have felt at his wife's demise.......
Lots of sad stories, not necessarily confined to boxing but just part of the fabric of life in general. They’re ALL in the same realm of sad, some just have a more compelling “script” and “drama” to them - the type of stories that could be put on film. What about the suicides, McCoy, Turpin, Arguello, etc? Then there is also Arturo Gatti, with some doubt as to his own suicide ruling -
Arguello's wasn't a suicide. He was offed by political opponents. No one shoots themselves in the chest with a rifle.
We could also consider Sam Langford’s later life plight very sad - then wonder and take heart in his incredibly cheery disposition - as we’ve all seen on film. Amazing.
Well there you go, another contentious suicide ruling. It seems a lot of so called suicides might be set up to mimic same, or obvious murders covered up by corrupt authorities - there’s also the scenario of authorities having no one to pin it on and defaulting to a less than convincing suicide option to save face. Read the story and finer details on the apparent suicide of the “old” Superman, George Reeves. A lot didn’t add up. It is problematic however to reason that someone wasn’t the “type” to commit suicide and therefore did not do so - life circumstances can quickly muster the perfect storm for someone, otherwise happy, to sadly see no reason to live - and the nature of the beast dictates that people will often give no clue or seek help - such is their resolution to end it, not interested to be convinced otherwise. That, unfortunately, leaves a lot of people left behind, unjustly blaming themselves.
Matthew Saad Muhammad always has a special place for me, I hope he is with the God that he believes in, a great human being and champion. I love being a parent, doing all I can for our son, he is 20, will be 21 in august 2022, it is a privilege to have him. Saad's mother lost out, children should always be loved.
The dog fighting stuff regarding McClellan is horrific stuff, but that doesn't mean that he deserved what happened to him.
