Billy Collins is one. Dude had his life ripped away from him because Luis Resto and his team decided to cheat and put plaster in his gloves. Collins' life was ruined so badly that he decided to commit suicide.

I dont think he had any parents when he was abandoned. His mom was dead and he never knew his father. I believe an Aunt instructed his brother to lose him.

Regarding his name he had a speech impediment and the nuns couldn't ascertain his first name. It sounded a bit like "Matthew"

It turned out to be "Maxwell" so same first syllable.

They named him "Matthew" because apparently it means "chosen one."

Yes, they gave him the last name "Franklin" because he was found on or near the Ben Franklin Parkway

 

He really did, which is why the way his life ended is so incredibly tragic.

I’m not sure he even knew his first name. I think the nuns actually named him Matthew after Saint Matthew. As you say, he was given the name Franklin after the street he was found abandoned on. I believe his actual birth name was Maxwell Antonio Loach.

So he went from Maxwell Antonio Loach to Matthew Franklin to Matthew Saad Muhammad. And he went from poverty to wealth and back to poverty and didn’t quite live past middle age in the end.
