Pat, the name Bunny always confounded me until I asked a Jamaican friend about it and he said it was just a nickname, that's all. I know Bunny Sterling is actually Basil and Bunny Grant, who I thought was Leslie is George Leslie according to boxrec. But there is nothing there for Johnson. But something tells me there is more to it and we just don't know the real handle.

Think of it as more of a delayed threat — you get cavities from too much sugar and next thing you know you’re strapped in a dentist’s chair.

    Carl "The Truth" Williams.
    BTW
I have noticed that if a boxer's name is Tony and his last name starts with the letter "T" there is a good chance he will be nicknamed "TNT"; examples:
    Tony "TNT" Tubbs
    Tony "TNT" Tucker

There's been a few dozen "Gentleman" That guys over the centuries. Gentleman Richard Humphries fought in the 1790's is the oldest I recall.

    Ryan 'Spice boy' Rhodes.

Given to him around the time of the Spice Girls, not a modern version which would probably mean unconscious due to being off his head on drugs :nonono

    Jack 'Nonpariel' Dempsey
Lennox 'the pugilist specialist' Lewis (like you expect a 98 lb weakling with glasses and a lot of boxing books, then Lennox the Lion shows up)
