In contrast to the shadowy world of rumors surrounding alleged street fights among martial artists and pro wrestlers, professional boxers' after-hours fights are surprisingly well documented. From criminal records for assault to Holmes drop-kicking Berbick on video.

Which boxers' VERIFIABLE streetfighting "careers" would you consider to be the most impressive?

Didn't someone sucker punch Ray Robinson for not paying him? It was over sparring dollars or something.

Although it's borderline as far as evidence goes, Patterson (of all people) had a pretty good one. According to Patterson's account, a cab driver attacked him with a knife. Patterson knocked him out. Patterson ended up with a scar on his hand from the knife, so although there wasn't documentation, we have some physical corroboration to back up Patterson's description of the event. Not ordinarily that impressive to beat a normal guy, but an armed one is a different kettle of fish.

Tyson's fight with Green was documented, and Green was a fellow professional fighter. No pushover.

The guy I was talking about was Aaron Wade. Aaron actually was rumoured to have knocked Ray down in sparring and the fight outside the gym was over Robinson telling Wade he was taking a pay cut because he felt the gate for his fight wasn’t going to be good enough.

Just to flip the premise, sort of, for a moment.

It is very well documented that HW Bernie Reynolds, prior to his fighting Marciano, had his clock cleaned by actor Robert Mitchum in a bar fight. Nothing resembling MOQ of course and it was also corroborated that Mitchum wasn’t above giving Reynolds the slipper while he was down.

a lot of Fighters became 'Minders' or Bodyguards, for Organized Crime, the Underworld or Bookies or Mob Bosses. Some fighters had their own little enterprises too.

the amount of street fights over the years would have been plenty for everyone of these types... Lastly Not All Boxers are 'tough guys' so to speak, some are athletes, some are street fighters, some are both.
