Anyone? My vote goes to Andre Ward.

He had no case for beating Kovalev the first time. 0. Then the second time he beats Kovalev by an awful ref early stoppage (compare the punishment Kovalev took vs Yarde and then vs Ward. Laughable) after repeated low blowing. Then he retired lmao.

Before anyone goes at me for the low blow remark. Yes Andre Ward landed a right hand... But what immediately preceded that? Low blows and headbutts. Those illegal punches opened him up for the right hand. Then after the right hand he continued throwing low blows. Followed by the dumbest obvious paid for ref early stoppage. Absolute joke that he didn't give Kovalev a rematch.

And also, Andre Ward at 168lbs was a weight bully. There I said it. People like to forget that. He was absolutely huge which helped with his wrestling and bullying tactics (let's not go into illegal tactics - excessive clinching, headbutt elbows etc.). He campaigned at LHW in the Olympics and then went down to 160-8lbs for the pros. You look at the top amateurs who fight at a certain weight at Olympics, they usually stay at that weight in the pros or move up. Weight bully Ward went down.

He's up there with Mayweather Clenelo levels of fraudness.

This weight bully thing is so dumb, I swear people on here just choose who's a weight bully based on whether they dislike the fighter

    Lol no.

Weight bullying is a thing and fanboys deny it happens because they want to give THEIR fighter all the blind credit they don't deserve.

And I criticise anyone who is a weight bully regardless whether I like them or not. Spence, Crawford, Josh Taylor, Canelo (was) Ryan Twinkcia, Devin Haney are all weight bullies that I've called out. I like Taylor and Spence's style/fights in general but they are both weight bullies, Spence moreso.

I honestly think people who say weight bullying is not a thing have never put on a pair of gloves. Because if you have you'd realise how advantageous size is... And it can be very difficult to neutralise size when both fighter's are on roughly the same skill level. That's why fighters like Loma, Usyk, Bivol, Inoue deserve a lot of credit than they deserve. All fighting guys at or above their weight. Not cowards basically

Whilst I don't disagree with some of the Ward negatives, I'm not a fan of the whole weight bully thing. He could make weight at 168, fair play.

Look at the other side of that coin where cutting weight adversely affects fighters - Callum Smith should have moved to 175 years ago. Chad Dawson was a corpse at 168, not a weight bully etc etc

I get that, but fighters weight bully for a reason. They do it because it gives them specific advantages not because it puts them at a disadvantage. They do it for a reason.

Over time though, fighters can no longer make weight and start seeing disadvantges/being drained and so move up

There is no such thing as weight bullying as long as it is within the rules. There is absolutely nothing wrong with fighters doing what they can to get an advantage. Often both fighters in a fight cut a lot of weight and rehydrate 15 pound or more.

The day before the fight weigh-ins have caused this and the boxers are just using it to their advantage.

As the saying goes, "Don't hate the player. hate the game.".

Though i was a huge fan, Edwin Valero for sure has the most disgraceful exit to a boxing career. Murdered his wife, child and then commited suicide.

I guess thats an exit to life in general, but what could have been

It's exploiting the system. Size does not equal skill or being "better" than one opponent. Size can very easily make it harder for the opposition to overcome despite possibly being more skilled. Its just unfair and cowardly imo

I agree with everything you said except the cowardly part. It stinks from a sporting point of view but, for the boxers, it is their livelihood and from that point of view it makes sense for them to cut weight. What they need to do is fix the system so that welterweights are actually fighting at the welterweight level rather than at 140 or 135. Until then, unfortunately, it is what it is.

Really? Ward ended his career worse than Tony Ayala, Edwin Valero and Ike Ibeabuchi? Stop wasting people's time with cloaked hate threads and just come out and say you hate Ward.

Oliver McCall crying against Lennox was pretty awesome. Tony fighting in the UFC? Also bad.

Ward also won, fair and square. No shame going out the champ.

Sam Langford fought guys who weighed 30-40 pounds more than he did.

    So did Harry Greb.

Those careers are tragic but more for what was done out of the ring. Ward shamed himself in the ring.

Why would I hate Ward? I'm just calling him out for the fraud like he is. Just as I call out frauds like Mayweather, Clenelo and Clinchko. You just can't accept your idols are FRAUDS. Accept it
