Yup, nothing to really disagree with. Two sides of the same coin.

I’d say LL’s resume was already good and Vitaly got more mileage out of it than Lennox did
The fact that Lewis did retire in the face of $40 million shows just how cerebral he was. Tbh, I think LL believed he couldn’t beat Vitaly in the rematch - he knew he was spent. I think Lewis would’ve been stopped in the rematch and that it would’ve affected his legacy. I think Lennox felt that his destruction of Tyson, even a diminished tyson, gave his career closure...and lots of money.

No doubt whatsoever the vitalys name is far superior to Johnson’s, but the fact that Vitaly got a shot to even face Lennox to begin with is more than enough to offset any feelings of guilt Lennox might’ve felt. The reality is that Lennox Lewis is the best name on Vitaly’s resume and it’s a name he was stopped by.

An overweight barely 80% Lewis almost took Vitali's face off No ee4d to rematch

He's the best name on every resume he's on :beer-toast1:

And McCall and Rahman can boast a W on their CVs.

Lewis fought and beat 8 of the best 10 HWs of 2 generations, and another 8 or so of the top 20 as well.

His CV is the best modern era by far at HW and it's arguably a p4p contender as well.

Vitali retired before he could knock out Wilder and Stiverne.

One more round and Lewis would have been knocked out.............Vitali only had 2 weeks to train for that fight, only two weeks notice, he staggered Lewis, the fight was stopped on a cut, good thing for Lewis. Lewis had a very badly broken nose, nobody talks about that. Lewis could not have gotten through the next round. In a rematch, Vitali would have knocked Lewis out, have to watch out for headbutts, cuffing, lacing, etc. Lewis best shots could not stagger Vitali, but Vitali's shots staggered Lewis. Lewis turned down huge money for a rematch, Vitali said he would come out of retirement right now to fight Lewis for any amount of money............
