Just left the men arena, what a night of boxin! groves scored good stoppage and haye was dazzling he really was...he showed great power an speed...respect for ruiz for being durable and aggressive, good fight and great win...but i **** tell how hurt ruiz was at the stoppage? what did tv show?
His corner were threatening to pull him out after the 7th so it was no surprise really, he took some very big shots just before the stoppage and was in a pretty bad way. Credit to him for his determination. On an unrelated note, what the hell has happened to Leeds pal? Have the wheels come off?
I honestly was UNDERwelmed by Hayes performence to be honest, and i mean that as simply an interested boxing fan, not as a wlad fan, haye fan, or hater... He gave us the usual David Haye performence, which is very fine, but he also was walked down and hit more then he should have been against a 38 year old John Ruiz... I now think a few more fights becoming more then competetive that i didnt see being yesterday (Namely, Adamek, Arreola, Povetkin) Anyways, an alright win for Haye and gets his gimme title defence out of the way, now we can move on to bigger and better things.
John Ruiz WBA "mandatory" #1 since 2005 he has 8 fights 5 losses 3 wins the 3 "wins" against otis tisdale who had 18 losses jamile mccline- 8 losses serrin- 19 wins and 10 defeats congrats to haye for winning this fight that meant absolutely nothing and should have never been made. maybe he will fight mascaev next
Being a champ aint just about the glitz and glamour, its about beating the man infront of you in style...justified or not, ruiz was his challenger
