Tyson was shot, Holy was past it, Mercer could have got the decision from what I hear & Vitali was kicking his ass & was denied a rematch.

Add to that the Rahman & McCall fights & the fact that Mayweather is leagues ahead of Lennox in boxing skills & I rest my case.

I tell you what, I picked taylor & calzaghe to beat BHop :deal

I didnt pick on Tito-Hopkins, I hadnt seen enough of Hopkins to be perfectly honest to have made a good prediction at the time.

I picked tarver over Hopkins fair enough, i'll give you that, one of, if not Hopkins biggest win (antonio tarver )

I also picked Pavlik over Hopkins, however to my credit that wasnt me being sure of myself, I was in a picking comp and it was a toss of a coin. Here's my exact post:

I did actually go back and forth on that pick, I knew Pavlik wasnt a great boxer as exposed by taylor and as I said, BHop age will finally show. Hopkins aging proved me wrong, had the fight been 2-3 years ago I would have picked Bhop in a heartbeat.

To further illustrate my point on how unsure I was in that fight, I actually picked Pavlik in another thread:

Being leagues ahead but not having the resume to prove it is just talk. Lennox has the resume. Evander was a decent fighter in 1999 when Lennox beat him. Vitali was not kicking ass. I thought had Vitali not had the cut Lennox was going to land his right and stop him the next few rounds. Mayweather has not fought and beaten a great. Lennox has. I am Lennox fan. I thought he was a great fighter with a bit of a chin problem, but he came to fight and fought them all. I rate greatness by resume and quality of opposition. Where does that put Mayweather who really has not beaten great guys. He beat good guys, but not great or big challenges.

You picked Trinidad or at least expected a Trinidad win too, and that proves my point. Hopkins overcame the odds. An old man was shutting down these p4p rated talents, and Tarver was the bigger man and Kelly had the frame to fit Light heavyweight just fine. The exact same result would have ensued at 160lbs.

DLH & Marquez were 2 of the best fighters of the last 15 yrs....
Castillo, Hatton, Judah, Corrales & Hernandez were all very hard men to overcome at the time Mayweather beat them.

Lewis makes my top 10 all time HWTs, I dont mind the guy but he is nowhere near the level of Mayweather, please, you`ll never convince me otherwise.

Err no. I didnt pick Tito, I had no pick for the fight. If someone put a gun to my head Id have thought hard of it but fortunately, no one did. I dont take predictions lightly, I need to analyse fighters before making one, probably why im usually very accurate with it.

On hopkins big fights, I picked Taylor, JCC, Tarver & Pavlik(although I even picked Hopkins UD on another thread, my final pick with gun to my head was Pavlik). That makes me 2-2, and I was NOT AT ALL shocked BHop beat Pavlik...in the slightest. BHop take Joe to a close decision was a lot more shocking.

Tarver was never p4p...the guy goes life and death with Johnson. He KO RJJ past it...who hasnt KO'd RJJ past it? He beat an extremely 1 dimensional Pavlik who if not for BHop's age, Bhop would embarrass so bad Pavlik. I hold BHop in a high enough regard to know he's an A+ level fighter, just not an A+ resume imo.

That said I rate BHop top 5 of his generation...a case can be made for Oscar being higher though :)

    1. Achievements/Resume.
    2. Talent.
    3. Who were they beat by and when? as I don't think people are penalised enough for losing when they were still in a good point of their career

RJJ took belts from 160 through to HW in his pomp, he looked unbeatable and the majority of his losses came after that ascent to HW, hence he gets my #1

Floyd gets #2 because he's taken belts at a great number of weights, beaten many great fighters, never been beaten

    etc.

Why Lopez? He faced limited opposition in one of the weakest weight classes. The 0 looks impressive until you look at the boxers he faced. Definitely not in the same league as the other boxers in your list.
