Daniel Zaragoza going out on a loss to a prime Erik Morales at almost 40 years old in a very good fight certainly didn't hurt his reputation.
Ah damn, i flicked thru and thought i only noticed Vitali. At least i know i'm on the right path if the studious Flo mentioned him.
Spinks retired one damn fight too late. Had he retired before fighting Tyson he would have been not only the former undefeated undisputed light heavyweight champ but also the only heavyweight champ along with Marciano to retire undefeated. Now the main thing he’s remembered for is being KOed by Tyson in 91 secs. Not a great way to end a career
Lots of ways to look at that. People would say to this day that he quit to avoid Tyson knowing he’d get steamrolled. It would hang over his legacy like a cloud. I don’t know anyone who holds the KO1 loss to Tyson against his legacy. What he did at light heavy was set in cement. Then he became heavyweight champ, beating a long-dominant champion in an upset. Anything after that was gravy. And speaking of gravy, that Tyson fight surely netted him ore than he had made in his entire career. He’d be foolish to have passed that up.
