Boxing ‘nice guys’ who you actually don’t think were nice guys

For a long while I assumed Vitali and Wlad were just Ukrainian super soldier Momma boys… Vitali is not a nice man, not ordinary either but flat out evil last I checked.

 

Foreman paid a woman off who he abused and has multiple statutory **** allegations outstanding against him. You might want to rethink that.

 

Most boxing "nice guys" have an edge or some level of maliciousness to them. Doesn't make them fake nice guys necessarily. People have layers, can't expect a nice guy to be nice 100% of the time.

 

Imo him not pulling his punches isn't really a huge downside either,if he didn't time you perfect enough with the cannonball it's quite dodgeable,atleast from what I see on Holyfield's game.

 

Any proof of that?

 

Me too era digging dirt from seventy years prior with questionable recollection of event and paycheck in sight. I was writing the post with older George in mind but yeah, I'll give you that—I sure as hell ain't defending pre-preacher Foreman.

 

Do you have any sources on that? Sounds interesting.

 

I think Teddy Atlas summed it up best "Foreman was not as bad of a guy as people thought in the 70's but neither as nice of a guy that people thought in the 90's"

 

You’ll have to do a little googling I couldn’t pull it out of a hat it’s been a while but it’s out there.

 

I did a thread on it. The stuff he admitted to in an early 80s magazine article would never happen today and the women all shared similar stories and came forward due to a change in laws. The thread got merged with another one.
