Bernard Hopkins, Juan Manuel Marquez and "Sugar" Shane Mosley elected to International Boxing Hall of Fame. I do think Mosley should have an * next to his name * for PED abuse and the BALCO lab fiasco.
I’ll be going in June. Marquez has been my favorite boxer of my lifetime. I attended 11 of his fights so only right I do the honorable thing and make my first trip there.
They deserved it, all 3 are ATG legends. Crazy to see them getting in already after their first year of eligibility.
Hopkins got the most votes. I think we are going to see more fighters enter their first year of eligibility. Two reasons why. The talent level was pretty good, and boxing is running out of guys on the waiting list who have better resumes /fame.
Not so sure. Mosley was trounced by Wright x2, Forrest x2, Mayweather, Pacquaio and defeated by Cotto. Fighting them (and mostly not even close) don’t trump Marquez’ career or opponents defeated.
Next year the line-up will be incredibly strong, with these guys being eligible for the first time: Floyd Wlad Ward Toney Cotto If they only add 3 to the ballot, which two will be missing out?
