Difference was, that Andrade made Kessler work far more than Bute. In fact both were more active than Andrade-Bute was. Even if Kessler was tired, he even paced it up in the final round - unlike Bute. I was seriously worrried about Butes health in the last round.
I also like Bute, but Andrade is wrong for him. Bute can only be glad that Grant tried to make Andrade into a boxer. Bute was well prepared for the fight, and what to expect - but Andrade has a bad style for him. Next time Andrade will not keep the foot off the gas pedal. Furthermore I am not so sure that Bute will beat the experienced Larsen. The one that held Kessler back for so long.
The rematch will be great that's for sure!!! And Dane, you said something that worried me, I'll have to watch Kessler-Andrade again because I can't remember but you think Andrade tried to box Bute? hummm...
I didn't want to sound like I was reaching defending Bute... That is why I kept my comments for myself. But it seems like a general conscensus. Fightwriter (Houston) says almost the same thing by the way.
Dude, two things. 1-Bute was up at 9. Look at the replay and forget about the ref. Count yourself. 2-Wright NEVER said that. I have heard all the interviews. Believe me. I was SOOO shocked after the fight that I got everything I could to understand what the hell happened.
Yes, Andrade tried more to be a boxer. Now since he doesn't have the technical level of Bute, nor will he likely ever have, it was a bad call. Against Kessler he pressed forward every second for 12 rounds. Normally I am all for turning a crude fighter into a better fighter, but in this match in particular, it was a bad call.
Agree with you. But I don't think it woul've changed Bute's game plan of holding. It might have worked but he needs to watch Hopkins Holding. Sometimes I was wondering what the hell was Bute thinking. Holding a leg???
