I've been running 8 mile each day at 4am in the morning. !I fight 3rounds 2minutes, I want to fight 3 3 cause im so fit, I've had 36 bouts and im young! What's better jogging shorter distance then doing sprints or doing my 8mile jog then sprints at night?
Depends how much other work you're doing, where you are in your training, etc. If you're already weight training and boxing, you're better served by doing slow, long-distance runs. Those are a lot easier to recover from, and they give you a little extra stamina. If you're primarily in an endurance-building phase, you'd probably want to do the long, slow runs and sprints (at different times/days), along with boxing.
Sprints are great for training for huge bursts of energy. Even if you don't plan on fighting in that way... if the other guy does, it's best you train to be ABLE to do huge bursts of energy. It sounds like you are already doing a good amount of distance.. so just don't neglect sprints. No single thing is the best, but a blend.
id'e maybe do 1 or 2 miles less so maybe 6 or 7 miles of jogging and do a mile or 2 made up of a few sprints.
Thanks for the help! I also do 4 3min rounds shadow boxing, then with weights. 8 3min rounds punching the bag, pad work, floor to ceiling 6 3min rounds, skipping 6 3mins,.exercises, power punching
You sure are wasting a hell of a lot of time running. Maybe you should take that up as a hobby instead. BTW, doing all that running does not necessarily make you fit.
That running is more of a fit of a pro-style work out. You should shoot for something that simulates your fight more like running 2.5 miles in 15 mins or so.
