so i never really asked this, and dont know why i never went to a doctor for it, so my friend punched me in the ribs as retalition cuz i punched him in the hip, we were just joking around but the guy punches rediculously hard and then i think my ribs are fractured because i felt a sharp pain for a few weeks. This happened 4 years ago and when i look at my ribs it looks like its going inwards a bit. Although i dont feel any pain its sort of weird, when i bend to my side the lowest bone sticks out a bit and when i grab the part thats inward im able to move it. It looks different from my ribs on the other side of my body and they havnt looked the same since. I went to a doctor like a few weeks ago he said is fine but like the doctor i went to seem to always disagree with another doctor i visited. nothing hurts but im sort of worried if i get blasted in the ribs. If i do really well in my amateurs i plan on going pro. I sparr normally but i never really gotten hit with a hard shot on my ribs. I know you guys arnt doctors but my doc just said i have nothing to talk about although i never told him i box
No biggie. Just duck the following fighters: JC Chavez, Ricky Hatton and Mike McCallum. Problem solved!
but seriously im wondering if this is common, if it is then its w/e im willing to take the punishment. I want to know if this is extremly dangerous or if its just another day to another boxer.
you'll have to wait until you get hit there to find out i guess. ive heard of guys sparring and fighting with floating ribs and it can be extremely painful, you might just be overthinking things. but really the only way i can see that you're gunna find out is to keep sparring and wait to see what happens when it gets hit. but DONT keep it on your mind during sparring. carry on as you normally would, or else its gunna be a distraction thinking about it and could throw you off. and if it does get hit hard and ****ed up go get it checked out.
