i think steroids are a real problem in sports and we really do nothing to erase it

we dont strip records or life time ban people

pretty soon many steroid era guys will be up for hall of fame induction

    should they get in?

    should barry bonds be stripped

should boxers who fail tests get life time bans

and the tests are beatable and as the op said guys like conte know how to beat the tests perfectly

and thats why i dont trust anybody affiliated with him

for me i believe with money and fame and all this other stuff on the line i dont doubt over half of all pro athletes do it

they catch race horses juicing, golfers juicing so why not boxers

i feel a bigger effort must be made to test or a much stricter punishment be made

or roids should be legal and used by choice that way its all up to integrity and fans would know who to give support to

    :good

    think about it

your an aging quarterback your team signs a young hot shot who juices and is threatening to take your spot

you have a multi mill contract a shoe deal a gatorade deal

if you ride the pine you lose it, its about the money you would juice to stay in the game

your a champ you got a big contender coming up who is obviously on something,, you would juice to keep your title

with money on the line the connections and the ability to beat a test why not

if your clean.....there is nothing to worry about.....it's realy that simple.

the only reason people are mad is because the person asking about the PEDs they don't like but in all actuality they agree there should be better testing for PEDs.

FACT: The IDEA IT'S SELF that Boxing needs to look into upgrading the testing and be more vigilant about PEDs in a hand to hand combat sport is VERY GOOD for the sport.

    *yawn*

If PEDs were really running rampant through boxing, fighters, promoters, etc., would be petitioning state athletic commissions to do something about it.

No one has done that. Not even Floyd.

Who ever thinks boxing doesnt need an improvement in PED testing is simply blind. Every sport has taken steps to improve their system, except for boxing. Here we have guys like Roy Jones. Jr., Toney, Vargas, and Mosley and the list goes on that have either been caught or admitted to some sort of PED and some just blame others or make excuses about it once they are caught. We have others like Guzman, Funeka, and Chavez Jr. taking banned diuretic knowing it's against the rules. Something simple compare to PED's some may say, but it just shows when fighters are desperate they will do anything. Just look at Margarito's wraps to his special energy drink that are not allow. For anyone that thinks boxing is handle the best way should just think again.

SAC's control the testing. If the fighters/management want more stringent testing, all they have to do is petition the SAC.

Why hasn't any fighter/promoter/manager/trainer done this? Not one? Even Floyd. "who's out to clean up boxing," and who lives in Vegas, hasn't petitioned the SAC. Why is that?

    Try:
Your a college kid playing a sport where thousands around the world play with the same glamorous intentions as you, train the exact amount or more than you, and will have the same opportunity as you to prove themselves where it matters: the field of play. We are talking about the elite of the elite battling for the ability of athletic glory and fame, but more importantly, occupation and wealth. When your livelihood and family well-being is on the line, 9 out of 10 will do whatever means to compete with those around them, and by virtue, will be on the same PED's as those they compete against as well.

Um, because that's how things work with the SAC? If you want something changed, you petition for it?

Do you not think that if enough of the big name fighters went to the NSAC, and said they won't be fighting in Vegas anymore until they look at changing their testing regimen, that the NSAC would listen?

Je4sus, man, use your head, bro. it's not that hard to figure out. If all these guys really felt that fighters were using PEDS, they'd do something about it. Has anyone? has anyone even brought forth a shred of evidence that Pacquiao, Ortiz or B-Hop is on something? You know, usually, there's a paper trail for these things. Why hasn't anyone discovered it yet? :patsch
