Mikaela did not hesitate to correct him and point out that both groups have been dominant for several Olympic cycles (the latter since women's boxing was introduced in 2012) and you could hear the sullen bristling in his response of "well yeah but until now they've not gotten any gold". lol:

I'd have thought if anything he would've done it on the day his boy Khyzhniak battled for the gold.

 

Muydinkhujaev is controlling range. Verde not unskilled but attempting to box on the outside with his fellow southpaw is a mistake here.

Verde was laughing with his coach as he got off his stool for the final round, and they hugged. Couldn't possibly telegraph any more the fact they've given up before this started and bottled it on the world stage. What an embarrassment.

edit: well now, he's letting rip with the uppercut in the last minute - but why did he wait this long>!?!
