Bylon is sculpted like a Marvel comic book hero but Li Qian is on another planet in terms of skill.

Panamanian squeaked her way in here - two majority decisions and one split. In the semis it was a particularly egregious result over Cindy Ngamba - who actually might have given the Chinese woman a decent challenge. (ran her close in June)

 

10-9 x5 to Li.

 

Bylon physically stronger, ragdolling in the clinch - but on the outside Li sharpshooting with ease.

 

One judge gives Bylon the second.

20-18 x4 Li, 19-19.

 

Bylon having a good third with sustained aggression but it's mathematically impossible now for her to win sans a point deduction or KO.

 

Hat trick for Li Qian over the last three Olympics - bronze in Rio, silver in Tokyo and now it'll surely be gold in Paris.

 

29-28 x4, 28-29, SD for Li.

All five judges gave Bylon the last round but, as stated, it didn't matter by that point. Even if they'd all gone 10-8 it would have still been four drawn cards and one for Li.

 

Still would have been an underdog but Cindy earned a silver, damn it!

 

Bout #235 - Bakhodir Jalolov (UZB) vs. Ayoub Ghadfa Drissi El Aissaoui (ESP), Men's 92+kg FINALS

 

Reminder: the Moroccan-Spaniard is a +500 underdog.

Jalolov took a 5-0 UD in every stage to get here: the RO16, QF and SF - and barely ever left first gear.

Ref gives two standings eight to Ghadfa in the last fifteen seconds of the opener...which, remember, doesn't automatically compel the judges to make it a 10-7 (or even a 10-8 for that matter) as it would in pro scoring - but hard to imagine he isn't now in a deep points hole.
