First time meeting between the Georgian and significantly less experienced (but three inch taller) Azerbaijani.

 

Poor defense from both tbh.

Their offense isn't great either.

Just frantic flurrying from either, breaking up long stretches of staring at each other. Little technique.

Guruli gets a stern warning for a blatant backhand.

 

Crowd booing, rightfully so. This was worse than some of the women's bouts.

Bazarbay Uulu Mukhammedsabyr (KAZ) vs. Lai Chu-en (TPE), Men's 63.5kg (139.99lbs, light welter)

 

Decent skill level in this. Mukhammedsabyr a bit more accurate.

 

Surprised to see two judges gave Lai the first.

 

Scheduling worked out nicely...after this is the super heavyweight tripleheader "main course" of the day:

2. Delicious Orie (GBR) vs. Davit Chaloyan (ARM), Men's 92+kg
3. Kamshybek Kunkabayev (KAZ) vs. Ayoub Ghadfa (ESP), Men's 92+kg

 

Lai was spirited but didn't have the gas tank to keep up his spurt attacks for long.
