    Hard rounds to score; the Mongolian with the far more powerful shots but the Romanian much busier.

    Judges are split: 20-18 x2 for Munguntsetseg, 20-18 for Perijoc, and 19-19 x2.

    SD (four of five judges), with Munguntsetseg's heavier blows carrying the day.

    30-27, 29-28 x3, 28-29

    Mendoza has the same eyesore outfit that Jajaira G. had on - @Serge, my whole country is rocking the CCA catastrophe as their uniform. :shakehead:

    That's it, I'm cashing in on my dual citizenship (dad was born in Liverpool)

    * Deep sigh... *
    Short answer - No. There are not "male" athletes competing with females. And no, that isn't me validating the gender of a trans athlete - I'm saying there are no athletes that were born male fighting athletes that were born female.

    It's complicated, though.

    https://www.outsports.com/2024/7/30...in-yu‑ting-paris-olympics-boxing-gender-test/

    Basically, the IOC has a method of screening to prevent trans athletes (in combat sports at least, not sure about others) - and it has to do with genetic testing. If you have XY chromosome, you're "caught" and exposed as being ostensibly a man and can't fight women. Makes sense, right?

    Until you remember that intersex people (hermaphrodites) exist. Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan and Imane Khelif of Algeria both have been accused of being trans and have failed the IOC's gender tests - but are not trans as they were not born male.

    So - kind of a conundrum, no? All those physical advantages men have over women - they still have over a womanly hermaphrodite, don't they? So if we're keeping our values consistent, the hermaphrodites being forced to fight men is no less unfair than women being forced to. I guess you could argue that hermaphrodites skew a bit stronger and bigger than full-on women so they shouldn't be fighting them either - but then what is the solution? Intersex people get their own division? Surely not, there wouldn't be nearly enough of them for that. So they just don't get to compete at the Olympics, even if they are talented enough to qualify?

    It's a tough situation with no easy solution.
