Might be the p4p best performance I've seen from any woman in the games this year. Excellent movement and counter-punching.

Southpaw vs. southpaw; the Kazakh (born in Turkistan) in blue took bronze in Tokyo and won the gold medal at the AIBA world championships in 2021. Gümüş in red is a relative rookie, and took gold in this past spring's Euro championships in Belgrade.

 

The young Turk got schooled.

Juan Manuel López De Jesus (PUR) vs. Hasanboy Dusmatov (UZB), Men's 51kg (112lb, flyweight)

 

Yes, this is the son of that JuanMa López, the WBO super bantam and featherweight champ who fought from 2005-2019.

Been eagerly awaiting this one.

 

Round 1

López is snapping out a southpaw jab and keeping his distance. Dusmatov stalking, reaching in with right hooks and then bowling overhand lefts over the top. Straight left on the body by Dusmatov, then he pulls back and ducks a López uppercut. No clear advantage in the first minute, both men tentative, reading each other. López dashes in with a 1-2 sortie and scores. Dusmatov brushes the body. López with a hooking flurry, takes a cuffing jab/hook on the way out. Dusmatov just misses with a big overhand left as López quickly backs up. 1-2 headhunting by López, grazes the hairline as Dusmatov squats and pokes a left into the belly. Dusmatov with a jab on the belt line as López walks in and flurries. Big hook by Dusmatov moving in and then laterally in a close pass-by. Clinch for the last ten seconds.
