Kyzaibay probably just nicked the round from some good work early slugging right hands up at her tall Brazilian southpaw opponent. Last couple of minutes were cagey, lots of jabbing air.

 

Judges go five zip Kyzaibay.

 

Closer round, Almeida got in some body flurries. Lots of clinching.

 

20-18 x4, 19-19 for Kyzaibay.

 

Good third for Almeida but the clock is her enemy.

 

30-27 x3, 29-28 x2, UD for Kyzaibay.

 

Buse Naz Çakıroğlu (TUR) vs. Fatima Herrera (MEX), Women's 50kg - Preliminaries - Round of 16

 

Çakıroğlu getting drilled with some nice straight rights by Herrera. Nice gameplan to fight a southpaw by the Mexican - pressuring from orthodox then switching to southpaw herself and landing looping lefts as Çakıroğlu backs into the ropes thinking she's safe from that side.

 

Judges go 4-1 in Çakıroğlu's favor.

 

Massive experience edge to Çakıroğlu - thrice as many amateurs bout, and she's the Olympic silver medalist from Tokyo as well as the IBA women's world champion from 2022.

 

I've heard barking before but never in my memory this...high-pitched hooting while punching.

It sounds like it belongs in a cartoon.
