That is correct. There are two XY male chromosome athletes competing however. It's a tricky situation, they are like that African track runner from a couple years back where she had no external male organs and was raised as a female but had internal testes which produced higher levels of testosterone than a XX female.

You can say it's an unfair genetic advantage but so are things like height in basketball. In a contact sport like boxing however, it gets into even more of a quandary.

    ???

What am I missing? You're saying Khelif is a biological female and that all the reporting indicating otherwise is inaccurate? Or are you simply saying Khelif was found to be in compliance with IOC requirements? Two different things IMHO ....

Guessing you're referring to Caster Semenya (?) https://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/20/...ess,That condition is called hyperandrogenism.

It sure is a tricky situation. Anyway, that aroused controversy and it involved runners. This is boxing. I cannot fathom why IOC would consider this acceptable.

    Yes, that was the one.

For the IOC with boxing, yes, it's a different situation as it involves actual violence and physical force, not just running. They really should have erred on the side of not allowing this. Both those individuals were banned from other boxing competitions prior to the IOC allowing them to compete.

You don't play boxing is not just a funny saying, it's not like other sports but the IOC never really did get that.

There are no trans boxers in the Olympics, but there are two biological male boxers competing against women. Both boxers failed gender tests, tested for XY Chromosomes and they were both banned from women’s boxing matches in 2023.

Just because they’re not trans doesn’t mean they’re not biological males.

Unfortunately, it seems a fatality may be necessary to put an end to this criminal practice. A female by birth will need to be killed by a genetic male sports cheat like that Thomas freak. (As for the modern Olympics themselves, they should have been abolished where they began, with their return to Athens.)

Compulsory genetic testing for female competitors was introduced in Mexico City for 1968, but the IOC ditched this practice in 1999.

As a collegiate male freshman, sophomore and junior, Thomas was an abysmal loser, placing no higher than 267th among NCAA men. The ONLY reason Thomas transitioned was to cheat to wins in swimming.

Many years earlier, a scholastic champion girl swimmer transitioned to boy. This kid cheerfully accepted always finishing a distant last in all future swim meets, but swam for the love of swimming.

I recall a freak in a girl's volleyball game hitting a spike which was so hard, it fractured the skull of the girl it hit on the other side of the net.

Let's abolish EVERYONE who transitions from male to female from sports competition against females biologically designed to reproduce. Then let's see how many want to transition!

Very glad I stopped following sports decades ago. (I learned about this episode from my parents, who saw it on mainstream news.) Steroids, other PEDs and tranny freaks completely ruined it for me.

Developing a fetish for something which used to gross me out, pregnant porn bondage footage. (I'm not cool with stills that can be PhotoShopped.) The GOAT filmmaker Russ Meyer usually cast females in the first trimester of pregnancy because they had larger natural knockers. That's all that competitive trampoline jumping and competitive cheerleading should be, well endowed girls doing nothing more than bouncing up and down.

I subsequently saw MixedMartialLaw's clarification that this was a chromosome matter similar to that of runner Caster Semenya.

So the differentiation apparently was not the result of an operation, granted. But is Khelif fully a biological female? Should the difference not be taken into consideration? Again, we're talking boxing, not running.

I still find it unacceptable. I file this not under discrimination... but under science.

Probably too late for IOC to correct this mistake for these Games, but they should going forward.

It happened. Imane Khelif (the blokey one) vs Angela Carini (the girlie one). Only lasted 46 seconds.

I didn't laugh but we are all different.

The people who are turning a blind eye to what Imane Khelif is doing are not only amoral, but idiotic.

People forget that this is not a sprinting competition, but boxing, a sport where people punch each other in the face. People can get seriously hurt. They can even get killed.

A man, yes a man (who has highly elevated levels of testosterone and XY Chromosomes) is being allowed to punch women in the face. He was gender tested and he was banned in 2023. This was not a rumor, but something that actually happened. The IOC made an exception because they don't want to hurt any feelings, but they would gladly allow women to get hurt physically because they are pushing an agenda, like many of the fools here.

Boxing is about competition. Good match-ups makes for good boxing. Watching a man physically harm a woman is not good boxing. It's loathsome.

    Heartbreaking stuff

The difference in upper body strength between those with XY male chromosomes and XX female ones is massive. The IOC is probably just going to drop boxing from future games than own up to this mess up.
