Didn't go super well for us last time an American woman (wearing this same CCA catastrophe, no less) fought a Brazilian in these Games.

 

Judges split 3-2 in Cerqueira Romeu's favor.

 

Mendoza doing really well making Cerqueira Romeu bite on the southpaw jab feint and then delivering a quick high scything left.

 

High quality fight. I'm thinking either of these could give Yıldız Kahraman a challenge.

 

19-19 x3, 20-18 Mendoza, 20-18 Cerqueira Romeu.

Claro Fiz bringing the smoke. Real power in that left. Surprised he's never stopped anyone.

 

This pair met for the first time in June, with the younger and less experienced Alejandro Claro Fiz taking a UD.

 

French rallying behind their man but IMO they're about to be Le Sad.
